Though our story began in Uruguay - located in the southeastern portion of South America - it leads us today to the Southeastern part of Wisconsin, the home of Superb Woodwork Restoration, where we work with architects, builders and designers as well as individual clients. Whether for commercial or residential, owner and master woodworker/architectural carver Hugo Saavedra pours more than 35 years of woodworking experience into each piece for clients in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois (though his pieces can also be found in Europe, South American and in U.S. cities such as Palm Beach, Florida). Trained and apprenticed in Uruguay, Italy and Germany, Saavedra builds pieces to last a lifetime, whether it's a custom door, a carved fireplace mantel or a one-of-a-kind Instagram worthy bookcase. Now serving mostly Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, our work doesn't stop at design and creation. Sometimes a beautiful antique needs a helping hand to return to it's former glory. As a wood conservation/preservation/restoration expert, Saavedra applies his skills to these pieces by using proper restoration techniques. His background includes work in restoration and preservation of historical assets housed in two of Uruguay's top museums.
